Spurs midfielder Huddlestone has ankle surgery

Tottenham midfielder Tom Huddlestone had his second ankle operation in the last 11 months on Friday in a bid to cure a recurring injury.Huddlestone, 24, has not played since the 5-1 defeat against Manchester City on August 28 after suffering a recurrence of the ankle problem which troubled him throughout last season.Spurs boss Harry Redknapp recently revealed Huddlestone would require a second operation on the injury and the Premier League club confirmed the former Derby player went under the knife on Friday.He will now have to wait six weeks before visiting a specialist to discover how long he will be out of action."Tom Huddlestone has today (Friday) undergone a surgical procedure to his right ankle," a Tottenham statement confirmed."The midfielder will be further assessed by the specialist in six weeks' time, after which a time frame for a return to training will be determined."
