Bartley won't be rushed

Rangers' on-loan Arsenal defender Kyle Bartley insists he will not rush his comeback from injury but hopes to be back in action soon. Bartley is recovering from a hernia operation and has not featured since being forced out of his second Gers debut against Inverness on August 13.The centre-half also saw his first loan spell with the Scottish champions last season marred by injury when he suffered medial ligament damage and is keen on a cautious approach this time around.Bartley said: "I'm not targeting any specific games and at the moment I am just taking things day by day."If I start looking too far ahead of myself I might get a bit carried away."Realistically, I've been out for quite a while now so it could be a few more weeks before I'm fully fit, but I'm getting closer."Although reluctant to set any deadlines, Bartley could return for the glamour friendly against Liverpool at Ibrox on October 18.He told www.rangers.co.uk: "I've been outside for the last week with the fitness coach and the physios so hopefully I'm not too far away now."With my knee injury then the hernia problem, the last six months have been really frustrating. It has been a tough time."But everyone here has been behind me and I've managed to get through it and hopefully I'll keep getting stronger now over the next few weeks."
