Portugal's Silvio out of Iceland Euro qualifier

Portuguese defender Silvio was on Monday ruled out of his country's Euro 2012 Group H qualifier with Iceland on Friday, the team doctor revealed.The Atletico Madrid star is according to Henrique Jones showing signs of suffering from a groin problem and would prefer to have him fit for next week's final and decisive clash with Denmark.Jones also said that Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo had not trained with the squad on Monday because of a painful right hip but that there was no question of him missing the two qualifiers."He will train with the squad on Wednesday," said Jones.The Portuguese had already replaced Dany with Porto winger Silvestre Varela on Sunday because of personal reasons.Group H is set for a thrilling climax as three sides, Portugal, Denmark and Norway are all on 13 points, though, the first two have two matches remaining to the Norwegians one.The Portuguese top it on goal difference.
