Aaron Hughes set to retire from International football

Northern Ireland captain Aaron Hughes is to retire from international football at the end of the Euro 2012 qualifying campaign. Over and out: Aaron Hughes is set to end his international career this yearThe Fulham defender is expected to play his last international in the final qualifier away to Italy on November 11.Hughes, who will be 32 in November, has won 79 caps for Northern Ireland.Hughes told BBC Radio Ulster: 'I had thought about doing it (retiring) at the end of the last campaign.'It would have been nice to go out on a high by qualifying to a major finals but it was not meant to be.'But it is good we have had realistic chances of qualifying in the last couple of campaigns.'I knew halfway through this one that it was my last.
