Michel Salgado tells Cristiano Ronaldo to 'keep calm and enjoy' Real Madrid

Salgado, who completed a free transfer from Real to Blackburn earlier this week, admits he chose to move to Ewood Park after receiving a glowing reference of English football from the former Manchester United winger. But the two-time Champions League winner has left the Bernabeu with words of advice for the £80 million star.  Related ArticlesSunderland v Blackburn previewBlackburn sign SalgadoBlackburn v Manchester City match previewBlackburn close in on SalgadoDunn: kick lumps out of Man CityHe said: "I was talking to Cristiano on Thursday and he is quiet and calm. But when a big player arrives in Spain, the pressure is really big and, with Ronaldo, it will be something else again. "There is a big crisis in the world, so when a club pays £80 million it's even bigger. "But I just told him to keep calm and enjoy it. I think he will be the same Cristiano that you saw here, but like every player, he will need time." Salgado, 33, has admitted that Ronaldo painted a rosy picture of his six years in England with United. He said: "When I told Cristiano I was thinking of joining Blackburn he assured me I would enjoy it. "He said the English league is incredible, that I would like the way of life and that it was a great chance for me to come over here. "There is a theory that the weather is bad and life is boring, but he assured me that's not the reality. "He said I would live well, enjoy the food and that the work you do at the clubs in England is ideal."
