Twaddle: I've nothing to prove

Hughes released Twaddle from Falkirk in 2007 but Eddie May moved quickly to re-sign the defender from Partick Thistle after taking over in the summer. The return of Hughes has added an extra edge to the Scottish Premier League clash off the park but Twaddle insists it will have no bearing on the match."I don't like to say 'I've proved this guy wrong'," the 22-year-old said."I just get on with my football."I've worked hard since I left and got games under my belt and been rewarded with a great move back to a great club."I wouldn't go on and say I got my own back on Yogi, it doesn't work like that. I just put my head down and work hard."I played the best part of 80 games for a First Division team and it's a hard, hard league physically. So I have come back with a bit of experience."Twaddle, who cost Falkirk around £60,000 this summer, added: "Obviously Yogi was my manager when I was here first time but I think we need to put that out of the window and focus on getting three points."Three points are massive for us whether it's Hibs, Rangers or Aberdeen."It's the first home game and our fans expect us to put on a show."Falkirk lost 4-1 at Rangers in their opening SPL game but they won plaudits for their overall display and Twaddle is confident they can tighten up."I think we played well for 75 minutes, albeit we lost four goals," the former Rangers youth player said."We looked comfortable in possession and we were a bit more direct at getting the ball in the box and shooting."We've had a look at the video analysis and know where we went wrong, so hopefully we can improve defensively."Twaddle has been paired with fellow summer arrival Brian McLean at centre-back with Darren Barr and Thomas Scobbie completing a defence with an average age of under 23.But Twaddle is convinced the new-look and youthful back four can quickly get up to speed."We've gelled pretty well so far," said Twaddle. "I played with Brian at Rangers, he is a year older than me, so I know him well."Obviously we have Daz to the right who I've played with before and Scobes to the left."It's a young back four but we're all agile and athletic so it bodes well for the future."
