Caldwell: Hugo wants to be here

Wigan captain Gary Caldwell is confident Hugo Rodallega will remain at the club despite being linked with a move away during the summer. The Colombian forward hit nine goals last season, including a crucial strike on the final day of the campaign away at Stoke that helped the Latics stay in the Premier League. The 26-year-old has just a year left on his current contract at the DW Stadium, with the club wary of losing him on a free transfer next summer.Everton and Arsenal have been linked with a swoop for Rodallega, who cost Wigan £4.5million from Mexican outfit Necaxa two years ago. However, Caldwell believes the striker is still committed to Roberto Martinez's men, despite not yet signing a new deal that is on the table."I think Hugo wants to be here," said Caldwell."There are always rumours at this stage of the season."But we work with him every day and he will still be a Wigan player at the close of the window."
