YOU can't keep Joey Barton out of the headlines at the moment, and little more than an hour after he helped Newcastle record a Wear-Tyne derby win over Sunderland, the controversial midfielder had another success to celebrate at York races. Barton's highly-rated two-year-old, My Propeller, won the Listed Julia Graves Roses Stakes on the Knavesmire to announce his arrival as a possible Classic candidate next season. Ridden by Frankie Dettori, My Propeller landed odds of 4-1 as he timed his finish to perfection to surge a length clear of his closest challenger, Last Bid. The win netted Barton almost £15,000, and the Peter Chapple Hyam-trained youngster is now entered in the valuable Cheveley Park Stakes at Newmarket in September.
