Long Way To Go Before Crisis Is Declared At Hibs

Colin Claderwood does not appear to be a man that panics and his is hoping his calming influence can stop the press from inciting panic at this early stage of the season. Colin Calderwood insists it is too early to talk of a crisis at Easter Road. As the fuss about him being a wanted man down south to act as number two at two clubs has died down a little, Calderwood has to think about how Hibs can bounce back from the 4-1 reverse against Kilmarnock. Next up is St Mirren as the Hibs manager looks to balance the record of having won one and lost two of their SPL games so far. Hibs struggled for consistency last season as they finished 10th in the SPL, while many performances last season were met with derision from supporters. Calderwood said: "What we're looking for is to.do what we need to win. We lost the last one. We need to bounce back, we need to get a home victory and we need to show the fans we're up for the season. The weekend was a reverse and we'll take it on the chin. We had to address it and we did quite quickly after Kilmarnock and showed the things we know we have to improve. They were so glaring that it makes it quite easy to go and work at that. The other side is to show them the things they did excellently and there were one or two things. I think we'll make good progression because of the defeat, but also because they're a group who have got much more to give and show than they did last Sunday and I know they've got the ability in there. We're looking forward to the weekend. It's an appetising game." Sean O'Hanlon (toe) and Akpo Sodje (knee) returned to training this week, leaving Hibs with just Michael Hart (groin) and Sean Welsh (cheekbone) out this weekend. Welsh was back in training on Thursday after being injured in an incident with team-mate Martin Scott earlier this summer. Asked how challenging it will be for the protagonists to be training together once more, Calderwood said: "Not difficult at all. It's a working place and we expect everyone to behave properly. We're delighted that he's back and we'll ease him back."
