Cherries: Bradbury given green light to buy following Ings sale

LEE Bradbury was last night setting his sights on securing two new signings after revealing he had been given the green light to enter the transfer market. Bradbury is aiming to bring in a central midfielder and a striker after Danny Ings followed Anton Robinson out of the Seward Stadium exit. The teenage frontman yesterday completed his move to Burnley for a package understood to be potentially worth £1million. While Bradbury insisted the deal represented good business for Cherries, he admitted he now needed to recruit a replacement for Ings as well as Robinson. Bradbury revealed he had held talks with Eddie Mitchell and that the chairman had indicated his desire to help boost the Cherries ranks. Manager Bradbury is likely to step up his search for reinforcements following tonight's clash against Stevenage. Speaking to the media prior to training yesterday, Bradbury said: The club can use the money from Danny's transfer to put foundations in place. The chairman has spoken to me and he is going to help me, on the player front, to bring in a couple of fresh faces if I want to, which I will. I am looking at it at the moment. It has been no secret that I am trying to get in another midfielder. At the moment, I have only got three so I need someone there, as well as another striker. We have got Ryan Doble from Southampton but he is only here for a month so I need more options. Bradbury has been forced to rebuild his squad in recent months after the departures of key players including captain Jason Pearce, former skipper Danny Hollands and star midfielder Robinson. But despite those losses, the Cherries manager remains in optimistic mood, having already signed Steven Gregory, Darryl Flahavan, Adam Barrett and loan trio Scott Malone, Nathan Byrne and Doble. He said: Bigger clubs come in and want to pay the players twice as much and it is difficult to keep them. It is a battle that is ongoing for me but I have got what I have and I am happy with the squad I have got so far. With a couple more additions, we can be more than a handful for anyone in this league. Discussing Ings, Bradbury added: It was a good deal for the club for a lad that played 29 games and scored eight goals. Danny is a great lad. He worked hard for AFC Bournemouth and it was a very short career here, but he did his best while he was here and that was all we could ask for.
