Emerton urges Samba to stay put

lackburn winger Brett Emerton is hopeful the club can hang on to star defender Christopher Samba as he is an "important" player for Rovers. The 27-year-old has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal this summer - but Australian international Emerton has urged him to stick with Rovers.Emerton said: "It's very important (Samba stays). He's an important part of our team and I think the club will do everything they can to make sure he stays. I for one hope he does."It's been a good pre-season so far and everyone's managed to stay fit and healthy. We should have a fully-fit squad to pick from."Rovers open up their Premier League campaign with a clash with Wolves at Ewood Park on Saturday.Emerton added: "We've got a good record against Wolves of late and hopefully that will continue."
