Mowbray hoping for change of luck

The Hoops were holding their own against the talented Premier League side at Parkhead until two minutes from half-time when Cesc Fabregas' drive from 30 yards took a wicked deflection off William Gallas' back to put the visitors ahead. The Gunners stretched out after the break and all but sealed their place in the group stages in the 71st minute when Celtic skipper Gary Caldwell put the ball past Hoops keeper Artur Boruc in his attempt to cut out a Gael Clichy cross. Mowbray recognises the enormity of the task ahead of Celtic in London but he insists his side will go looking for the first goal to give them a chance. And the Celtic boss is not concerned how that opener might come about. "Let's not disguise the fact that it is a big ask for us," Mowbray said. "The secret is to score the first goal and be positive and if we do that it will be interesting to see what their mentality is and how their team and supporters react. "You would think that they would think the job is automatically done but we have to be positive, score the first goal and see how the game unfolds. "If we score the first goal it makes them edgy and nervous. "Hopefully somebody hits a free-kick from 25 yards and it hits one of them on the back and goes in the bottom corner. "If you concede the first goal you are 3-0 down and you are not going to score four goals at the Emirates." "Both goals were very difficult to take," Mowbray added. "You can't deny their quality, they are one of the best teams in the world yet I can't remember them having a shot on goal in the first half. "Then they get a free-kick 30 yards out, Gallas is trying to get out the way and it goes off him and in the bottom corner. "If they have a 15-pass move and someone cuts inside and smashes the ball in the bottom corner you would think, 'wow, what a bit of quality' but they never did that and didn't look like doing that. "To be fair, neither did we, "The frustration on the night was that we weren't good enough on the ball. "It's no secret that Arsenal have better players than we have and we played against a very good team, it was there in front of your eyes. "They squeezed very high up but the disappointment was we weren't good enough to play through that pressure."
