Calderwood chasing new blood

Hibernian manager Colin Calderwood has revealed he is closing in on two transfer targets. The former Scotland defender hopes to have both players in before their next Scottish Premier League game, against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on August 14.Calderwood, whose side face Sunderland at Easter Road on Saturday, told Hibernian TV: "We've spoken to a couple of players this week. We're pushing forward on that, although nothing will happen before the weekend."But we're hopeful we can move forward and try to do something - certainly within the next fortnight."It has been a good couple of days that we've had and we just want to add a bit of strength in depth to everyone."We won't stop until the transfer deadline finishes at the end of the month - it will be a busy period."Calderwood has only signed four players this summer - Garry O'Connor, Ivan Sproule, Sean O'Hanlon and Junior Agogo - despite losing more than a full team at the end of last season. But he feels that patience could pay dividends."The interesting thing is the catalogue of players is becoming bigger and contains a higher standard of player than it was four or five weeks ago," he said.
