Chelsea sign teenager Oriol Romeu from Barcelona on four-year deal

Chelsea are expected to pay £4.3 million up front for the midfielder with the fee expected to rise to £8.7m. According to reports in Spain, Barca will have a chance to buy back the player during the first two years of his time in west London. Romeu has been on Villas-Boas' radar since his days at Porto and has already assured the defensive midfielder, who can also operate in central defence, that he will figure in his plans next season. Romeu has represented Spain at under-17 and under-19 levels and is currently playing for the under-20s at the World Cup in Colombia and has been prominient in victories over Costa Rica and Eucador.
