McDonald hoping for a new high

Arsene Wenger's squad flew in to Glasgow on Monday as hot favourites to win the Battle of Britain clash, the first leg of which will take place at a packed Parkhead on Tuesday night. The Hoops qualified for the last 16 of the competition two years in succession under former boss Gordon Strachan - and the Australian international believes that feat is comparable to overcoming the odds against Arsenal to make the group stages.McDonald, however, believes Celtic have to take a lead down to the Emirates Stadium for the second leg - unlike boss Tony Mowbray. The Parkhead striker explained: "Of course, we know it's going to be tough but if we were to qualify, this would be right up there with getting to the last 16 of the Champions League."But we know we need a win - something we can take down there to make them work at the Emirates."We believe we can get at them and we have to try and dominate possession."We all know Arsenal are very good, but we need to be tight on them. There's a big carrot dangling here for us."We will have 58,000 of our fans roaring us on. They can give us that extra lift that can take us over that line."McDonald watched Arsenal's 6-1 demolition of Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday and revealed his admiration for Arsene Wenger's side.He said: "They are just as good as Manchester United were when they came here and the question is how do we stop that?"They are a very good side and they were very impressive to say the least against Everton."Arsene Wenger just keeps producing these young players."But we have huge belief in ourselves and the atmosphere at Parkhead will give us that extra lift."
