Scotland call for MacDonald

Alex MacDonald is very much part of the first team squad again at Burnley and he's got further good news with another call up for the Scotland under-21 squad. Alex has been named in Billy Stark's squad for a friendly against Norway which will be played at St. Mirren's ground on Wednesday 10th August. He played for his adopted country last season at under-21 level during his time on loan at Inverness Caledonian Thistle. We reported earlier this week that Martin Paterson had been named in Northern Ireland's squad for their Euro 2012 qualifier against the Faroe Islands and it means that Eddie Howe will be without both players for our Carling Cup tie against Burton Albion.
