Sol Campbell wants to join Newcastle

Campbell, whose fiancée comes from the North-East, revealed his hopes of signing for the Tyneside club when he chatted to corporate guests during Newcastle's 3-0 victory over Reading last weekend. That suggests Fabricio Coloccini's days on Newcastle are numbered with Espanyol, Galatasaray and Palermo linked with the defender. Everton have been tipped to step up efforts to recruit centre-half Steven Taylor but the former England Under-21 captain has no intention of handing in a transfer request to force through a move.
