Carroll In Talks

Whilst the Preston keeper situation has yet to resolve itself it appears Roy Carroll has now emerged as the favourite to become Preston's new number one. With Andy Lonergan set to finally leave the club, it now appears that trialist, Carroll, is in talks with the club over a permanent move on a free transfer to Deepdale. Brown was always interested in bringing Iain Turner to Preston on a free transfer and probably would have done so had the proposed Lonergan move been completed a few weeks ago as planned. Due to Lonergan still being on the books, Brown has had to take on trialists to play in pre-season including David Lucas and Roy Carroll. The latter has impressed Brown and it is understood from Carroll's solicitor that talks are ongoing about bringing the keeper tot the club.
