Anelka off to US
bye, bye Nico? Just had a call from a reliable source that Nicolas Anelka is planning to leave SW6 and head across the pond to the US to play for a Major League Soccer side. No firm details as yet, but it could be that Anelka, 33, could have played his last game yesterday in a 3-0 friendly win against Wycombe Wanderers. Anelka's exit from Chelsea is expected but the club were hoping to off-load him back to Paris St Germain for £5m at least. But Anelka's desire to try "something new" might persuade the Chelsea top brass to let him leave on a free or nominal fee. More to follow.
