Cherries: Lee delighted with Rec rout

BOSS Lee Bradbury hailed Cherries' professional approach after watching his team dish out a double-figure demolition at Magna Road. Bradbury's men got their pre-season campaign under way with a resounding friendly 10-0 win over their Dorset Premier League hosts last night. Danny Ings, Mark Molesley and Steve Lovell bagged two goals apiece, with Mitchell Nelson, Liam Feeney, Mathieu Baudry and Lyle Taylor also on the scoresheet. Bradbury told the Daily Echo: "I was really pleased and I thought the lads applied themselves excellently. "They tried to do the right things all the time even when they were winning by quite a few goals. They moved the ball quickly and worked hard when they didn't have the ball. "There were some really good individual performances and I thought the lads looked sharp all over the field. "It was good for them to get out there, play the right way and score a few goals." Feeney was the star turn in the first 45 minutes as Cherries got off to a flying start. The winger provided the assists for Ings's double and Nelson's header, while also producing a crisp finish of his own. Mike Notley twice came close for the hosts and was unlucky not to get a goal when he saw a second-half header hit the crossbar. But Cherries responded by increasing their tally late on. The winning margin could have been even greater but for the annual heroics of Hamworthy Recreation's veteran goalkeeper Kevin Leonard. An FA Vase winner with Wimborne Town in 1992, Leonard again demonstrated his quality with a string of fine saves, denying the likes of Ings, Lovell and Marc Pugh before being substituted to warm applause. Bradbury added: "I'm tempted to sign him! Every year, he pulls off numerous saves when he shouldn't do. He is a technically great keeper." Bradbury fielded different sides in each half, with trialist trio Sofiane Choubani, Jordace Holder-Spooner and Ivan Forbes among those to get game time. The Cherries boss confirmed he would be keeping all three involved this week. Bradbury also revealed he was hoping to agree personal terms with Charlton defender Simon Francis in "the next couple of days". The two clubs agreed a fee last week but talks with the player have since been ongoing. Cherries first half: (4-4-2) Flahavan; Purches, Nelson, Barrett, Hester; Feeney, Gregory, Arter, Choubani; Fletcher, Ings. Cherries second half: (4-4-2) Jalal; Stephenson, Cooper, Baudry, Cummings; Holder-Spooner (Forbes, 70), Robinson, Molesley, Pugh; Taylor, Lovell. Goals: Nelson (16), Feeney (18), Ings (22, 41), Baudry (48), Taylor (75), Molesley (79, 85), Lovell (84, 90)
