Sneijder does not want to leave Inter, but he will - Strange
noises are emanating from the San Siro where Wesley Sneijder looks to be
leaving for Manchester United for a fee of around £35 million. The midfielder
has made a statement in which he claims not to want to leave the
Milan club, but will do
so if asked. Since the new Inter coach, Gian Piero, has also stated his desire
to keep the Dutch International it seems that the impetus comes from much higher
up the Inter tree.

Liverpool edge back ahead in Downing race - Stuart Downing’s
future could finally be sorted this week with the player likely to move up the
M6 to
Liverpool. Aston Villa had hoped that the
potential loss of Samir Nasri would bring Arsenal into the equation and force a
bidding war between the two former powerhouses. However with Arsene Wenger
stating publically that his French midfield ace was going nowhere, it looks
like Villa will have to meet Liverpool half way and sell the
England winger
for around £18 million.

Rossi snubs the Lane in favour of Italian job - Harry
Redknapp’s hopes of bring Manchester United’s former reserve striker Giuseppe
Rossi to White Hart Lane appear to have been stopped in their tracks by the
might of Juventus. The
Turin
based giants have tabled a bid of around £35 million to bring the Italian
striker back home. It is very unlikely that Villareal will be able to resist a
bid of that magnitude and the deal should be complete within the week.

Chelsea close in on young Belgian ‘keeper - Chelsea have
begun their hunt for a long term successor to Petr Cech with a bid for Genk’s
19 year old goalkeeper, Thibault Courtois. The talented, but little known,
teenager helped
Genk
to the Belgian title last season and would only attract a fee of a view million
pounds. With Atletico
Madrid actively hunting
for a replacement for David de Gea, you can expect a very quick move from
Chelsea and the deal to
be tied up in days.
