Levein sees end to striking troubles

The Argentinian forward only signed for the Tangerines last month and made an impressive impact on their pre-season tour of Ireland.Casalinuovo, 23, changed the game around against Drogheda after coming off the bench and also scored goals against UCD and Kildare to convince Levein to hand him a two-year deal. However, United's shocking run of luck with forward players then claimed the ex-Velez Sarsfield man when he dislocated his shoulder in the final minutes of the tour.Casalinuovo joined last season's top scorer Francisco Sandaza, Jon Daly and Kevin Smith on the treatment table, leaving Levein with only Danny Cadamarteri and youngster David Goodwillie as recognised attackers. However, he has returned quicker than expected and has been able to take part in training over the last three days. While the Hearts match on Monday will probably come too soon for Casalinuovo, he is expected to be back fit for the following week's encounter with St Mirren.Levein said: "Damian has started training with the boys again so that's great news."I'm slightly worried there might be a bit of weakness in his shoulder and it could pop back out again if he gets tugged or lands awkwardly."But by next week he should be ready for a bounce game so we'll look into that."Levein is happy with his side's build-up to the new campaign, but after coming off the back of an impressive pre-season to lose to Hamilton last season, the United boss is taking nothing for granted. With five new players having arrived at Tannadice over the summer, there will be a fresh feel about the United side and Levein is expecting a bold show from his team.He said: "I'm happy with the preparation over the summer but we won't know exactly how well it's gone until Monday."It's a great game to start the season with, we've always had good matches against Hearts."We've had a fair turnaround in players over the summer. Obviously we have a number of guys out injured and they will come back."But we've added five new guys to the squad so that brings a freshness."The days of having the same team for years are long gone, players move on more these days and as a manager you are used to rebuilding."United will be frustrated waiting until Monday night, but while Levein would much rather be playing tomorrow along with the other teams, he insists rescheduling will not affect his side.He said: "Having to wait until Monday night is a bit disappointing but television pays the money so they call the shots."We'd obviously like to be playing on a Saturday afternoon every week but modern football isn't like that."Even though the game is on a Monday night I'd still expect a good crowd and the fans will get behind us."
