Newcastle defend spending record despite £35m Andy Carroll funds
Newcastle insist they are spending the ?35million generated from the record-breaking sale of Andy Carroll but won't waste it all in the summer transfer window.The North-East club have been busy in the market so far, recruiting four new players.Manager Alan Pardew has already signed striker Demba Ba and winger Sylvain Marveaux on a free, while midfielder Yohan Cabaye cost ?4.5m from Lille and Mehdi Abeid arrived from Lens.
