Cherries: Bradbury keen on left-back

LEE Bradbury yesterday welcomed back his squad for the start of pre-season and then insisted his summer rebuilding work was far from complete. The Cherries boss, who has seen three key members of last season's squad depart, is targeting another left-back following Rhoys Wiggins's sale to Charlton last week. Wiggins's exit has left Warren Cummings as the only recognised left-back on the books, while rumours have linked Bradbury with loan moves for Wolves's Scott Malone and Southampton's Joseph Mills. Bradbury said: We only have one left back at the club so I need to look at that. We only have Warren Cummings at the moment so we need some cover. It is something we are interested in looking into. Bradbury is likely to renew his interest in Charlton full-back Simon Francis after a bid for the 26-year-old was turned down by the south Londoners on Monday. Asked by the Daily Echo about the possibility of making any loan signings, Bradbury replied: We've got targets but the managers I have spoken to have the same view as me. They want them to start pre-season with their own clubs and let them out if they don't feel they are going to feature in their squads. That is the situation with the players we have targeted and, if we were going to get them, it would be towards the end of July. Bradbury's players, including new signings Darryl Flahavan and Steven Gregory, started their pre-season preparations with a gentle jog around Kings Park. Cherries start their pre-season matches at Hamworthy Recreation next Tuesday, before a clash against Southern League new boys Poole Town two days later.
