Bent sets sights on Prem ton

Aston Villa striker Darren Bent has set himself the target of reaching 100 Premier League goals before Christmas. The England international has scored 91 top-flight goals over the course of his career, which has seen him spend time at Ipswich, Charlton Athletic, Tottenham, Sunderland and most recently Villa. Bent scored nine times for the Midlanders last season after arriving for £18million from Sunderland in January. And the 27-year-old has fixed his sights on reaching a century this term. Bent said: "I'm still targeting goals. I still want to get in the Premier League 100 goals club and I'm nine away now. "Hopefully if I can chip away at that next season and get that as quickly as possible then I'll be over the moon. "If I can get it by Christmas time then I'll be delighted. That's my aim, that's my focus and I'm determined to do it."
