Hammers tried to sign Jennings

West Ham attempted to sign Bayern Munich-bound Tranmere teenager Dale Jennings back in January, when they were still in the Premier League. The Hammers, who at the time were struggling at the foot of the Premier League, wanted to bring Jennings to Upton Park but their offer was declined.Instead the 18-year-old striker, who only made his Tranmere debut at the start of last season, has now been granted permission to discuss a dream move to the German giants.Jennings made 32 appearances for Rovers last term, scoring six goals, to bring him to the attention of the four-time European champions. The move to Munich could be worth up to £1.8million to the League One side.
