The Tottenham Hotspur striker showed he is in fine form ahead of the new Premier League campaign with a brace for England in Wednesday's 2-2 draw against Holland.Redknapp believes he will continue to torment defences over the coming 12 months to strengthen his claims for a World Cup spot. The manager rates the 26-year-old as one of the deadliest forwards in the business, having had him at West Ham, Portsmouth and Spurs. He expects Defoe to score at least 20 goals in the Premier League and insists the competition for places at White Hart Lane will only spur him on."With no Cristiano Ronaldo around, I wouldn't be surprised if Defoe finishes as the top flight's top scorer," Redknapp said in his column in The Sun."He would be the first Englishman to do that since Kevin Phillips stunned us all with Sunderland back in 2000, and what a boost that would be for England in a World Cup year."He also knows he has serious competition for a starting place up front with Robbie Keane, Roman Pavlyuchenko and now Peter Crouch all busting a gut to get in the team and get goals."I'd be surprised if Defoe doesn't bag at least 20 league goals."
