Share Let me go: City defender Jerome BoatengJerome Boateng is pleading with Manchester City to let him leave after agreeing terms with Bayern Munich.Boateng arrived from Hamburg last summer and signed a contract with City until 2015 but the defender is desperate to return home.He has failed to nail down a starting role in the centre of the defence and has repeatedly stated his intention to leave. He said: 'It is true that I have agreed with Bayern on a four-year deal. Now it is up to Manchester to make it work.'My dream is to have a starting spot within a year, hopefully at Bayern, and then I want to win the European championship (with Germany).'The 22-year-old feels a move to the German giants will benefit his country in Ukraine and Poland next summer. He added: 'It is about the position. Bayern want me as a central defender. That is also an advantage for the national team.'City will look to make a profit on the ?11million they spent on Boateng.
