Nile Ranger will apologise to Alan Pardew after posing with gun

ShareNewcastle striker Nile Ranger will be forced to make a grovelling apology to manager Alan Pardew after he was pictured posing with a replica gun. The 20-year-old says he regrets brandishing the firearm in a gangster pose in a photograph taken by his girlfriend at his home. Loony Toon: The picture, which shows the London-born forward wearing a hooded top holding the silver handgun in front of his face, was taken at his home by his girlfriend Ranger has already been spoken to about the incident and he is set to have further meetings with Pardew about his behaviour. A Newcastle spokeswoman said: 'The club have spoken to Nile and can confirm that the item shown in the photograph is a replica firearm, which it is not an offence to own. 'Nile regrets posing for the photograph. 'The club will be speaking with the player this week about the importance of being a positive role model to young fans.'
