Coleman defends selection policy

John Coleman defended his decision to name a weakened side as Accrington came away from Burton with a 1-1 draw to show for their efforts. Stanley, already guaranteed fifth place in npower League Two, head into a play-off meeting with Stevenage on the back of a 13-match unbeaten run thanks to Dean Winnard's late equaliser which cancelled out Russell Penn's 46th-minute goal. Coleman said: "We showed a great deal of spirit and kept fighting right to the end. "I thought we thoroughly deserved a point because we were the better team in the second half. We had more of the possession, knocked a lot of balls into their box and came up with a good finish. "A lot of people in the football world probably subscribed to the view that we came here not to try, but I certainly think we put that one to bed for sure. "You could see how much it meant to the players and the fans when we equalised. Every game we go out and give it our all, no matter which group of players starts the game."
