The floodlights How we loved those floodlights, every 260 foot of those towering totems. They were reputedly the tallest floodlights in Europe and had many a young lad agog during foggy winter nights. Certainly, I remember spending more time in the late 80s watching the floodlights in the hope of seeing some Fred Dibnah-esque madman shin up to change a bulb than I did the team. When they knocked them down, a light went out inside every Leeds fan.
