Cherries: Lee delighted to have Garry's input

MANAGER Lee Bradbury has welcomed Ryan Garry's input to the Cherries backroom staff. Bradbury has temporarily enlisted the services of the defender as he continues his battle to recover from long-term injury. Garry, resplendent in a sharp suit, helped direct operations from the technical area during Cherries' 2-1 victory over Bristol Rovers on Monday. The 27-year-old, who has been sidelined for more than five months due to a nerve-related problem in his lower leg, was also involved during the 2-2 draw at Yeovil. Garry has spent his enforced absence compiling scouting reports and team assessments for Bradbury and will again be lending his support at Hartlepool this afternoon. Bradbury told the Daily Echo: Ryan has had a nightmare time with injury and I like his attitude towards the game. With Steve Fletcher involved on the pitch, he will be somebody else that I know and trust to bounce ideas off. He is fighting to try to get back playing and is having a bad time with his injury at the moment. He is still feeling quite a lot of pain so I have asked him to get involved. I want him to be around the lads to keep up his spirits and give him a lift. The more hands to the pump, the better. Meanwhile, Bradbury has moved to explain the club's reasoning behind blocking players from conducting interviews with the media during Cherries' League One run-in. All press including the club's official website were surprised to have requests for interviews turned down following the 2-2 draw at Yeovil six days ago. However, club press officer Mick Cunningham later threw light on the matter when he informed the media of the new blackout. Players will still conduct interviews for the club programme. Bradbury told the Daily Echo: I just want the lads concentrating 100 per cent on the job in hand. I don't want them going in the papers saying we are going to do this and that and then not backing it up. I think we can let our football do the talking. We are an inexperienced team and I don't want them going in the papers saying the wrong things at the wrong time. I think it gives them something less to worry about. It is nothing against the press.
