Southend are set for an overhaul in the summer under measures drawn up by manager Paul Sturrock.
The Scot revealed that he will be formulating a plan to take the club forward, including changes to his backroom staff and the playing squad.
He told the Echo: "I am currently in the process of restructuring the entire football club.
"I will be coming up with a blueprint of how I want things to be run from top to bottom and will then take that to the powers that be. Ideally, this is something I would have liked to have done much sooner, probably before Christmas.
"As well as that I will be changing the squad and will be holding meetings with our out-of-contract players on Thursday."
Defender Johnny Herd has already suggested that he will leave the club at the end of the season.
