Allen hails resurgent Magpies

Martin Allen paid tribute to his Notts County players after they saw off Swindon 2-1 to record back-to-back league wins for the first time this season and pull themselves four points clear of danger. Swindon opened the scoring in the 18th minute following a spell of sustained pressure, Matt Ritchie hammering home from point-blank range. Yet County left it late as they pulled level 12 minutes from time through Alan Judge, before fellow substitute Lee Hughes rounded David Lucas to score the winner with five minutes remaining. Allen said: "What a comeback! The temperature it was out there and Swindon were a better team, and we were 1-0 down. I made a couple of substitutions and didn't the boys that went on do very, very well? (Judge and Hughes). "(Jonathan Douglas, Swindon captain) Hitting the underside of the bar with his shot was the turning point in the whole game but it was one of the best shots I have ever seen. "Considering we had to make five changes from the Tranmere game, we did exceedingly well."
