Southend manager Paul Sturrock will have Bilel Mohsni in his squad for the home clash with Stevenage.
The French defender has missed the last two games as he served a one-game suspension for his dismissal at Accrington on April 2 and then a second as he recovered from a broken nose.
However, the 23-year-old is expected to be among the substitutes, with the Shrimpers defence having only conceded one goal in his absence.
Midfielder Lee Sawyer, fresh from signing a one-year contract extension, could also return to contention following an ankle ligament injury which has kept him out of action since March 18.
The 21-year-old was originally expected to miss the rest of the season but has made a rapid recovery.
Sturrock has no other injury or suspension problems to contend with for the clash.
