Michael Owen hits back at Newcastle boo-boys on Twitter

Michael Owen has admitted he was disappointed with the reaction he received from Newcastle supporters on his return to St James' Park.The Manchester United striker was roundly jeered by fans of his former club when he came on as a 81st minute substitute replacing Nani in Wednesday night's 0-0 Barclays Premier League draw.The 31-year-old spent four years on Tyneside before he left on a free transfer to Old Trafford in 2009. Boo boys: A Newcastle fan waves a ?20 note at Owen when he came on as a late substitute for Manchester United But it was a spell mostly ravaged by injury and ended in failure as he quit the club not long after they were relegated to the Championship.While the majority of Newcastle fans continue to hold that against the former England international, Owen hit back at the boo-boys saying they did not know 'all the facts'.'Knew I would get booed as that's what a lot of fans do but if they knew the facts then they may have a different opin[ion],' he posted on social networking site Twitter. Was desperate to score!'Some Newcastle fans responded to Owen's posts with more criticism but the striker insisted he always gave his best for the club.'Disappointing result but credit to Newcastle, they played well and put us under plenty of pressure especially in the first half an hour.'Having attracted considerable attention with his tweets, Owen published another message on Wednesday morning which read: 'By the way, I'm not looking for sympathy.
