Branston delighted with award

Torquay defender Guy Branston has spoken of his delight at being named in the PFA League Two Team of the Year. Just two years ago Branston dropped out of the Football League by signing for Blue Square Bet North side Kettering, but the experienced centre-back has produced a string of impressive performances for the Gulls since returning to League football in the summer. Speaking at the awards ceremony, Branston told Press Association Sport: "Amazing. I had my tail between my legs when I dropped out the Football League and I ain't going to lie I did cry when I dropped out of it. "I thought my world had ended and I didn't want to be a part-time footballer, I wanted to be a professional footballer like I`ve always been. "To stand in the same room as some of these greats has got me starstuck. I am part of this union but I am ecstatic. "It's really, really good (feeling) from a personal view but it doesn`t happen without the players you play with. While they may not be here, I`ve got to thank them."
