Caldwell urges Latics to keep going

Captain Gary Caldwell wants more of the same from Wigan on and off the pitch when they travel to out-of-form Sunderland this weekend. Roberto Martinez's side continued their recent good form with a 3-1 victory over Blackpool on Saturday, lifting themselves out of the relegation zone in the process. Wigan were roared on by 1,700 fans at Bloomfield Road and Caldwell is hoping similar numbers will travel to Sunderland, who have taken only one point from their last nine games. The skipper told Latics Player: "The support was awesome. If they can reproduce that kind of form at Sunderland it'll give us the backing we need not only for that game but in our quest to stay in the Premier League." Of matters on the pitch, Caldwell added: "If we show the same kind of commitment we did at Blackpool I'm sure we can continue to cause problems at the Stadium of Light. "Every game is exciting in this league at the moment, particularly at the bottom. But every game is winnable so we'll get our feet back on the ground after the Blackpool win and work hard this week for another big challenge."
