Carlisle hope for Noble return

Carlisle are hoping Sunderland's teenage midfielder Liam Noble will return to Brunton Park on loan for the whole of next season. Manager Greg Abbott has confirmed a deal is close to being agreed and has not ruled out a permanent move for 19-year-old. Abbott told the News & Star: "That one is nearly done and it has been verbally agreed. I just need to speak to Sunderland to dot the I's and cross the T's. "It will probably be on a loan deal, but if I could make it permanent I will try. That is something that might develop in future." Noble has made 19 appearances for the Cumbrians since making his debut in the 4-0 home win over Bristol rovers in January.
