McCann: It`s good to be back

Burnley midfielder Chris McCann is delighted to be playing again after an 18-month injury nightmare. The Irishman played 37 minutes as a second-half substitute in the reserves' home defeat to Oldham on Tuesday night. The run-out was McCann's first appearance since undergoing surgery last summer, following the recurrence of a knee injury sustained during the Clarets' summer tour of Singapore. He said: "It has been a long road, but it was just nice to get on there in the second half and have a kickaround. "I felt it towards the end, so my fitness needs a little top up, but it's really good to be back. "I needed to go into a few tackles for my own piece of mind and I obviously needed to be tackled a couple of times too to make me more confident. Hopefully now I can roll onto next week and some more of the same."
