Mowbray to "manage" Merouane

Middlesbrough boss Tony Mowbray intends to use January signing Merouane Zemmama as an impact player as he attempts to guide the club away from relegation trouble. The 27-year-old Morocco international arrived from Hibernian during the winter transfer window as he continued his comeback from a serious knee injury. He made his debut as a substitute in the 4-3 home defeat by Swansea on January 12 and five of his six appearances to date have come from the bench, including his match-winning contribution against Derby on March 8. Mowbray said: "He's a boy who is only four or five months down the road from a cruciate knee ligament injury and being out for a long time and we need to manage him. "As we move on, probably for the remainder of this season, he is more likely to be an impact player rather than a starter."
