New boss Mathias pleased with draw

New Stockport boss Ray Mathias hailed his side's performance in a goalless draw despite seeing them miss out on the chance to close the gap on fellow strugglers Burton. The stalemate leaves the Hatters rooted to the bottom of the table and the Brewers hovering precariously above the drop zone. But Mathias, taking charge for the first time, was keen to take the positives. "You look at the chances and we created enough and got behind them quite a few times but their keeper was in good form," he said. "The first 10 or 15 minutes our set plays were very good, we got balls across their box, but I had a little bit of a go at the lads because nobody got on the end of them. "Overall our play was outstanding. It's an 11-man team and every one of them did their bit."
