Espanyol striker Jose Maria Callejon catches Alan Pardew's eye

Newcastle are weighing up a move for Espanyol striker Jose Maria Callejon. The 24-year-old has been watched by several Barclays Premier League sides over the past year, notably Everton and Wigan, and is interested in moving to England this summer. Newcastle boss Alan Pardew went to watch the former Real Madrid B team player earlier this month.  Toon target: Jose Maria Callejon (right)The 24-year-old was a prolific scorer while he was at Real, scoring 21 goals in 40 games, as he played as a central striker but Espanyol prefer to utilise his pace and eye for a pass by playing him in a predominantly wide position. Pardew is keen to add quality and pace to his side in the summer and Callejon falls into both categories.
