Blackburn Rovers' bosses looking to demote under-pressure manager Steve Kean

Under pressure: Steve KeanBlackburn's Indian owners are exploring a demotion for Steve Kean tohis old coaching role to avoid the embarrassment of firing theirmanager. It is less than two months since Venky's boss Anuradha Desai claimed the 43-year-old Scot was 'unsackable'. But with Rovers two points off the Barclays Premier Leaguerelegation zone following five defeats in six games, the club's ownershave been forced to re-think. Rovers' next fixture is athome to fellow strugglers Blackpool on March 19 and Venky's must decidewhether to stand by Kean or change manager for the second time in threemonths. They sacked Sam Allardyce in December and promoted Kean from first-team coach to boss. Sources close to Venky's insist Kean is safe for now, despite the 3-2 loss at Fulham. But one option being considered is to appoint an experienced foreignmanager - Martin Jol and Claudio Ranieri were being touted ascontenders last night - and put Kean back on the coaching staff, thereby avoiding having to sack him.  Fulham 3 Blackburn 2: Zamora caps return with last gasp winnerReferee Clattenburg giving serious thought to quitting after week of controversyAll the latest Blackburbn Rovers FC news, views and opinion  Explore more:People: Sam Allardyce, Martin Jol
