Cherries: Arter bench time made easy by club's position

TEAM player Harry Arter is desperate for Cherries' promotion form to continue even though he knows it could limit his game-time. Arter, who was this month handed an extended deal until 2013, has seen his first-team opportunities limited since joining Cherries in the summer. A signing from non-league Woking, he was one of the headline acts during Cherries' pre-season campaign. But a combination of injuries and the good performances of his fellow midfielders have restricted the playmaker to just six starts and nine substitute appearances. Arter, though, is happy to wait for his chance as Cherries continue their pursuit of a place in the second tier. He told the Echo: I have had to wait patiently and it is really frustrating. But it is not that bad when you are sitting waiting for your chance with a team second in the league. It gives you something to smile about. If we were bottom of the league and I still wasn't getting my chance, I would start questioning myself and, maybe, if I was working hard enough. But I'm in a team that is second in the league, so I can easily see the reason why I'm not playing. For myself, I want to get in the team. But I don't want it to be down to a lack of form because that is not going to be the best thing for the team. The main thing I want to do is get promoted this season. From Conference South last year to play any part in a team that gets promoted to the Championship would be a massive achievement for me. I would love the team to get promoted and if I'm part of that by playing or sitting on the bench, I would be happy either way. It is not an individual thing here, it is a team game. That is probably why we are doing so well. Everyone here is united and everyone plays for each other. I will play any part Bradders or the lads need me to. Arter added: I played before and did not look out of place. I started to get that run in the team in November and December and it was unfortunate I got an injury. I felt I was starting to push on and still feel as confident as I did then. I'm just waiting for my chance and am pretty confident I'll grab it with both hands.
