Fernando Torres let Liverpool down by moving to Chelsea, fumes Daniel Agger

Daniel Agger has hit out at Fernando Torres for daring to leave Liverpool for rivals Chelsea in a ?50million move last month. Torres suffered a barrage of abuse from travelling fans during his Stamford Bridge debut against Liverpool on Sunday, and the Denmark defender admits he would never have made such a switch. 'I think it is unacceptable to play for one of Liverpool's arch rivals,' said Agger. 'For a Dane it is about having respect for the club you play at. I'm proud to pull on my Liverpool jersey and will never go to another club in England.' Agger produced a crunching tackle on Torres during the game at Stamford Bridge, which Liverpool won 1-0.  No holds barred: Daniel Agger (right) gets to grips with former team-mate Fernando Torres'Football is a contact sport,' he shrugged. 'Liverpool got a lot of money for him, so we wish him all the best, but, if the player doesn't want to be here any more, there's no reason to keep him.'The 26-year-old was at a loss to explain how Torres had lost his form. 'That's a big question, isn't it?' he said. 'Look at the team, we played awful, we were s*** and he was a part of the team. 'When everyone is playing well, he plays a lot better. When we are losing, everybody is on top of us and everybody is playing bad. 'Big players should lift you. That's how it should be. Some players have to take bigger responsibility. It is the same in all walks of life.'  Tough tackling: Agger (left) launches at Darren Bent during Denmark's 2-1 defeat to EnglandIt took the return of Kenny Dalglish as manager to lift Liverpool out of the doldrums. Four wins on the trot have moved them back inside the Barclays Premier League's top six and within six points of fourth.'Kenny is a positive guy,' said Agger. 'First of all because he likes to play positive football, going forward, keeping the ball on the ground, and he is good among the players. 'The training sessions have been really good and I think everything starts at the training ground. If you get that right you have a big advantage in the games.' ?50m for Torres?
