Notts County manager Paul Ince was critical of his side`s decision-making after conceding late on to draw 1-1 with bottom club Walsall.
Lee Hughes headed what looked to be the winning goal after 64 minutes, but the struggling Saddlers netted an 88th-minute equaliser through Alex Nicholls.
"Dave Martin has made the wrong decision in trying something spectacular, then the defence has made a mistake and it has cost us the game," said Ince.
Just over a month ago Notts romped to a 3-0 win at the Banks`s Stadium in the reverse fixture, but Ince rejected claims that League One's basement side had improved in the interim.
He added: "I don't think they made it harder for us, although the pitch didn't make it any easier.
"We had a tough game on Sunday against Manchester City and we were dead on our feet out there. The last thing we wanted to do after a game like Sunday is throw away points."
