Cherries: Crazy January for loan star Smith

Cherries loan star Adam Smith looked back on a hectic January and admitted: It was certainly an experience. Defender Smith extended his stay from Tottenham just days before Eddie Howe the man who had signed him left for Burnley. The 19-year-old has missed just one league game since arriving at Dean Court on a youth loan arrangement at the end of September. Cultured right-back Smith has also been instrumental as Cherries have soared to the top of the League One current form table. Smith has played his part as five wins and a draw from seven games since the turn of the year have established Cherries as genuine promotion contenders. I've played almost every game since I've been here and it's been great, said Smith. There is nothing better than playing and we have maintained our form since Eddie left. A change of manager doesn't affect me as much as the other players but it can make things a little uncertain. If somebody new comes in and they don't like you, you could be out of the team. We were a bit unsure as to what was going to happen but it was great when Bradders was appointed because he knows everybody. He knows what I can do and has stuck by me. Smith will be hoping to help Cherries continue their fruitful start to 2011 when they host Swindon tonight, bidding to chalk up a second league double inside four days. We're on a good run and the boys are confident so it should be a good game, added Smith. There is nothing between the teams in this division so we need to approach every game in the same way.
