Curtis Davies will complete £1.75m move from Aston Villa to Birmingham

Blues move: DaviesCurtis Davies will join Birmingham City today for £1.75million. The former West Brom captain, will become part of a select band of players to have represented all three west Midlands clubs when he leaves Aston Villa. An injury to Scott Dann has left Alex McLeish short of cover in defence and he has moved ahead of Leicester City to secure his man in a deal that could eventually reach £2.5m. Davies' move is not conditional on Seb Larsson moving in the other direction. Villa remain interested in the Sweden international who may now stay having reached the Carling Cup final. Birmingham are set to pip West Brom in a loan deal for former Newcastle striker Obafemi Martins.The Nigeria international, 26, is available on loan until the end of the season from Russian side Rubin Kazan for a fee of £350,000.Aston Villa are interested in Celtic left-back Emilio Izaguirre, 24, asan alternative to Wigan's Maynor Figueroa.
