Cumbrians to check on duo

Carlisle will hand late fitness tests to skipper Paul Thirlwell and striker Jason Price ahead of the clash at Notts County. Thirlwell is hoping to shake off a calf strain, while Price is struggling with an Achilles problem. Both players missed the 4-0 Johnstone's Paint Trophy win over Huddersfield in midweek. Central defender Danny Livesey made only his second appearance of the season as a late substitute in Tuesday night's Northern Area final first leg following his recovery from a long-term groin injury and will be in contention again. Another centre-half, Tony Kay, remains a long-term absentee due to a knee injury, while new midfield signing Marc-Antoine Gbarssin is hoping to make his first start for the Cumbrians, who secured their first league win in six matches against Bristol Rovers last Saturday.
